While jetting around New York City in between shows for her groundbreaking Eras Tour, the singer has been treating fans to plenty of inspiration courtesy of her effortless street style.
But despite being worth around half a billion dollars, the Pennsylvania native still mixes high and low fashions with ease, meaning a lot of her go-to pieces are within reach for us mere mortals.
Her latest wardrobe staple? A versatile mini skort that she’s worn on repeat in the last few weeks.
Aptly called the ‘Heartbreaker’ skort by Free People, the short/skirt hybrid retails for just under $118 (AUD) and comes in a range of colours. It’s pleated shape and classic wash make it an instant classic, while the low-rise and cropped hem keep it fresh and on-trend. No wonder Swift has been snapped wearing it in two different colours.
The first time we saw her wearing the piece was when she was photographed leaving a studio in Manhattan this May with her now-ex Matty Healy. For the casual occasion, she paired the black iteration with an NYU purple and grey sweatshirt and beige leather sneakers.
Just a few days ago, the skort reappeared on Swift, this time, she put a preppy twist on the faded denim shade, which she paired with a silk striped shirt by The Row and chunky lace-up loafers by Malone Souliers.
Easy to dress up or down, the 33-year-old may be on to something with her latest plug.
Shorter hemlines have been a major trend over the last year, but where many have flocked to skirts—including the infamous Miu Miu micro mini—Swift has opted for something a little more convenient in the skort. Creating the illusion of the mini skirt without having to deal with any of the impractical realities of wearing one in our day-to-day lives? Genius.
