In case you missed it, Rita Ora and Taika Waititi forged an unlikely relationship in Australia earlier this year and despite our hesitation that anything would last, the famous couple are still very much together. The pair walked the 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards red carpet in Hungary overnight and let’s just say that the New Zealand director carried out his duties well.
The “Let You Love Me” singer wore a black feathered jumpsuit which featured a long sweeping train. As Waititi let the star have a solo moment, he was captured adjusting her train before capturing his own content. First on an iPhone before switching to a huge DSLR camera. Don’t think for a second that it was all serious business. Waititi enjoyed wrapping himself up in the train for a moment all his own.
The ceremony was held at the at the Papp Laszlo Budapest Sportarena in Budapest where Ora served as a presenter alongside Winnie Harlow, Ryan Tedder, Drew McIntyre, Olly Alexander, Joel Corry and Manu Gavassi. Performers included Maluma, Måneskin, Kim Petras, YUNGBLUD, Griff, girl in red, the show’s main host Saweetie and OneRepublic.
Ora sparked romance rumours with Waititi in May while they were both filming in Australia. The artist who appeared as a judge on The Voice Australia shared a subtle PDA happy snap with the filmmaker among a photo dump of her time in Sydney. It was so fleeting it could have easily been missed. The loved-up couple were then later spotted in a three-way kiss with Tessa Thompson on a balcony.
Ora and Waititi returned to the US to make their red carpet debut at the premiere of The Suicide Squad before further solidifying their relationship when the singer threw a celebrity-fulled birthday bash for her beau, featuring a cameo from Kate Beckinsale, Rami Malek and Kristen Stewart,
