In light of the surging COVID-19 cases abroad, it seems much of Hollywood has relocated to Australia. New Zealand-born director, Taika Waititi, has been based in the country for some time now has he films the upcoming Marvel instalment, Thor: Love and Thunder. Pop star Rita Ora has also travelled Down Under to film The Voice. While the country is seemingly small, these celebrity circles run smaller with a new romance believed to be in our midst.

Rumours had first sparked after the singer shared a casual photo dump to her Instagram account two weeks ago. “Good times, memories, random things on my phone and the ones I love..❤️ #midweekupdate,” the caption read.

If you look closely at the sixth image, you can just notice Waititi embracing Ora in matching Gucci sweaters. While many of us had missed the all-important detail at first glance, according to a source for The Sunthe pair have been dating for some time. Cue jaw drop.

“They’ve been a couple since early March but kept things low key. However, all their friends know about the relationship – they’re really into each other.”

Fans contacted Instagram gossip account @DeuxMoi to confirm rumours, noting the couple were “all over each other” at Big Poppa’s in Sydney’s Darlinghurst district – a popular late night destination. The Sun also reports the couple were seen exiting a private jet in Sydney with Chris Hemsworth, his wife Elsa and Matt Damon following a trip to the Gold Coast.

Waititi shares two daughter with ex-wife Chelsea Winstanley. The couple split in 2018 after seven years of marriage.

It isn’t the first 2021 celebrity couple that has raised eyebrows. Phoebe Dynevor and Pete Davidson are believe to be dating as well as Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly and Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker.

The year of unexpected love? We’re here for it.
