When we say this place, we mean Coachella, the music festival turned content farming exercise. When we say magic, we mean A-listers looking to let loose and enjoy the debauchery of being in the desert.
Case in point: Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello, who were spotted getting intimate on the first night of the festival.
The former couple, who called it quits on their relationship in 2021 after two years of dating, were filmed dancing together before videos began circulating on Twitter of the pair kissing.
In one inconspicuous video, the ‘Señorita’ singers were even seen cosying up to one another, with Cabello filmed sitting on Mendes’ lap.
We guess the age-old tradition of a music festival delivering surprising, yet delightful, artist team-ups isn’t just limited to the amphitheatre stage.
In the video, both musicians departed from the quintessential boho-chic ensembles that have become the uniform of the music festival in recent years.
Mendes sported a ‘normcore’ look, opting for a pair of sand-coloured cargo pants, a white graphic shirt, a pair of Palladium boots and a bandana, which he wore tied around his neck.
Cabello also kept things casual by wearing a pair of pocket-laden jeans and an ivory bustier with corset detailing. Completing the look was a string of Chanel pearls and a gold ‘Camila’ necklace around her neck.
Naturally, the internet had questions, mainly: could this be the best impromptu performance in Coachella history?
Given that this unexpected reunion marks the first time the pair has been spotted in an intimate setting, is an official reconciliation on the card?
The couple remained amicable since their split, including co-parenting their dog and taking platonic walks around Miami.
Perhaps this moment is signal that they’re putting the ‘on’ in their on-again-off-again relationship.
