Selena Gomez is 31! Marking an incredible first year in her thirties, the actress and beauty mogul celebrated her July 22nd birthday surrounded by friends and a cake to match her birthday outfit.
Joined by her nearest and dearest, the Only Murders in the Building star shared a series of snaps from her surprise birthday bash in Malibu. Though the Cancerian didn’t know what to expect from the evening planned entirely by her pals, she still dressed for the part.
Nodding to her crab zodiac symbol, Gomez stunned in a leather mini cutout dress with ornate floral details and fringing details by Bottega Veneta that matched her Magda Butryum sandals perfectly.
The evening’s festivities kicked off with a live DJ set by Diplo, and the party blended plenty of personal touches for the Birthday Girl, including an ‘SG’ monogrammed photobooth and a curated selection of Gomez’s favourite Shake Shack burgers. Notable guests included Paris Hilton, Christina Aguilera, Rosalia, Karol G, Saweetie, Tiffany Haddish, Pia Mia, Sabrina Claudio, Tyga, and many more famous faces.
Of course, the Rare Beauty founder didn’t let her hair and makeup go unnoticed, donning a bold winged eyeliner look with nude glossy lips and a retro up-do.
If we didn’t know any better, we’d say she opted for the same diamond hoop earrings she wore for her milestone 30th last year, where she went all-out in a sheer pink Versace gown.
Addressing the big day with her 426 million+ followers, Gomez shared her gratitude for the work she’s been able to achieve this past year with Rare Beauty’s Rare Impact Fund to expand access to mental health services. She also encouraged people to donate to the cause in lieu of a birthday present.
“I am thankful for so much in my life, and one of the things I am most thankful for is the work we’ve been able to do with the Rare Impact Fund through @Rarebeauty,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
“Because of YOU, we’ve been able to raise awareness and increase access to mental health services for young people. This is my true passion in life. People keep asking me what I want for my birthday, and I tell everyone the same thing please do not get me anything, but if you want to do something for my birthday, please donate to the Rare Impact Fund. If you have the means, consider donating to help us make a difference.”
