While the Department Of Education in Australia debates whether to include the #MeToo campaign in the national curriculum, the women of Hollywood are once again stepping out to stamp their mark. Following on from the Golden Globes all-black red carpet and the Critics Choice Awards (many of whom used the opportunity to speak out against a system that failed victims of sexual predators for years), hit the carpet today at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
For the first time, the ceremony has enlisted a host – Kristen Bell will play this role – and all of the presenters will be women in solidarity with the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements. While we wait for the main awards to be announced (Margot Robbie Saoirse Ronan and Frances McDonald are all up for Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A leading Role), let’s cast our eyes to the red carpet.
