Dune-star and Emmy Award winner Zendaya has made her much-anticipated return to the red carpet with not one but two stunning, rose-inspired gowns for the Screen Actors Guild Awards being held in Los Angeles where she was both a presenter and nominee for ‘Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series’ for her acclaimed role as Rue in Euphoria.
Perhaps she’s making up for lost time? Either way, her presence has been missed. Few other actresses today have managed to carve themselves a space in the fashion market the way Zendaya, with the help of stylist Law Roach, has. If we were one to make comparisons, Zendaya is arguably this generations Hedi Lamar. Or Audrey Hepburn.
The 26-year-old, who has been a noticeable absence from the awards circuit recently, arrived at the Screen Actors Guild Awards wearing a custom, rose-pink Valentino gown.
Designed specifically for the actress by Valentino Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli, the dress featured a strapless, sculptured bodice and 190-hand stitched rosettes down that literally bloomed across the surface of the skirt.
A tri-coloured jewelled necklace and sparkling cuff by Italian luxury jewellery Bulgari finished the look.
But this was just the first half of the event. Later, Zendaya – who has recently wrapped up filming Dune 2 alongside Timothée Chalamet and Elvis star Austin Butler – arrived onstage to present an award in Armani Privé haute couture.
From the Italian house’s Spring Summer 2023 collection, the tri-coloured black, blue and pink in a similar hue to the first Valentino featured a cut-out below the sequinned bust. A choker, also from Bulgari, was swapped in for the moment.
