For the past 48 hours, it’s been all about Kravis. That is, Kourtney Kardashian and her musician beau Travis Barker, who got engaged on Sunday evening after nine months of dating.
As we watched the proposal unfold via Instagram—first, blurry images were shared to celebrity gossip account @DeuxMoi, before Kardashian posted confirmation and later, her sisters, mum and soon-to-be stepchildren followed suit—many people’s first thoughts were of Scott Disick.
Not only is Disick the father of Kourtney’s three children and her on-again, off-again boyfriend for the better part of a decade, but just last year there were rumours he and Kardashian were rekindling their romance after Disick ended his three-year relationship with Sofia Richie (reportedly due in part to his close proximity to Kardashian). Then there were the unfortunate DMs that got leaked in late August showing Disick clearly upset about Kardashian’s PDA with Barker, prompting his most recent girlfriend, Amelia Hamlin, to end things with him, too.
In the hours after Kardashian’s engagement news, Twitter was alight with fans speculating about Disick’s reaction, but for a good while, there was no real news about how the 38-year-old was faring. Now, a source who spoke with E! News has revealed Disick is “beside himself.”
According to a second source close to Disick, he “knew it was coming,” as the Kardashian-Jenner family had “mentioned it to him before,” but the warning didn’t do much to soften the blow. He is reportedly “still really sad about it and is feeling low.” Disick is currently avoiding seeing or speaking to Kardashian as despite him “always being a part” of the family, it’s “hard for him to be around Kourtney and Travis.”
Back in August when Disick’s messages of disapproval about Kardashian and Barker were leaked, a source told E! News he was “issues accepting her love with Travis.” They added, “He wants her to be happy, but behind closed doors, he will always have regrets about their relationship and why it didn’t work out. He is bitter because he’s never seen Kourtney this serious about someone.”
