Scarlett Johansson has become the latest celebrity – after a long list of celebrities – to launch her very own beauty brand. This week The Outset was unveiled on Instagram and in an exclusive interview where the Marvel actress discussed creating a brand that fully embodied herself.

“I’ve been the face of several luxury brands throughout my career, an all of those experiences were really wonderful,” she shared in a breakout quote on social media. “But – how do I put this? I guess I always felt like I was sort of playing a character in those campaigns, and as I evolved, I wanted to create and represent a brand that was true to me.”

It is not clear exactly what will be offered from The Outset but judging by the brand’s soft launch, we’re thinking clean and natural skincare. In a video with co-founder and CEO Kate Foster, Johansson said she hopes it will be a “truly universal and accessible brand.”

The product will be available to order from March 1.

In true husband form, Colin Jost was spotted in the comment section of one post to celebrate his wife with a funny quip. Below a black-and-white image of Johansson’s jaw, he wrote, “Is this the best way to contact you? I’m starting a similar brand called “Part of a Face” and would love to use this photo. Thanks.”

Johansson who does not have a personal Instagram account failed to respond via the brand’s account. Foster, however, was quick to reply. “@colinjost I’m sorry. Your request is respectfully declined.”

The couple welcomed their first son, Cosmo, in August 2021.

The Black Widow star follows Gwyneth Paltrow, Kylie Jenner, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Harry Styles, Jennifer Aniston and Victoria Beckham who have all had great success in the beauty sphere. Hailey Bieber, Lori Harvey and John Legend are believed to be launching their own ranges in 2022.
