It was about this time last year when we slightly freaked out over the fact rumours had surfaced suggesting Rita Ora and Taika Waititi were dating. A romance that was sparked on the sunny shores of Sydney. Once again we’re here to freak out at rumours the wholesome couple are now engaged.
According to a source for The Sun, the couple popped the question at the same time and plan to get married in the near future. “This isn’t about them doing a big showy thing and crowing about it beforehand,” an insider told the publication. “It’s just about them being in love and deciding the time is right to formalise their relationship. They couldn’t be happier.”
Neither Ora or Waititi have confirmed the news. Stay tuned.
The couple first started dating in early 2021 sparking rumours when Ora has subtly included the award-winning director into a photo dump from her time in Australia. The singer was serving as a judge on The Voice while Waititi was in the middle of production for the upcoming Marvel film, Thor: Love and Thunder.
“They’ve been a couple since early March but kept things low key. However, all their friends know about the relationship – they’re really into each other,” a separate source for The Sun said at the time.
They both later relocated to the US where they soon made their red carpet appearance at the Los Angeles premiere of The Suicide Squad. They continued their public appearances with the New Zealand-born filmmaker proving he was the ultimate Instagram boyfriend.
