Megan Fox made a major return to Instagram overnight, sharing a text post with comments turned off that shut down the swirling rumours that fiancé Machine Gun Kelly may have cheated on her.

All eyes and tabloids were on Fox and MGK last week, after the actress shared a series of selfies in a bathroom, seemingly after a Superbowl pre-party at Drake’s house, with the last slide being a video of letters burning in a fire.

She captioned the post with a Beyoncé lyric from the Lemonade track ‘Pray You Catch Me’ that read “You can taste the dishonesty/ it’s all over your breath,” and given that album has plenty of references to Jay-Z’s unfaithfulness, it seemed pretty obvious to fans that Fox was implying the same had happened between her and Machine Gun Kelly.

After going dark on social media for the rest of the week, Fox returned today with the following post.

The post may have been in response to the backlash MGK’s guitarist, Sophie Lloyd, started receiving online after Fox’s original cryptic Instagram share. In the comments, a fan speculated that MGK had cheated with Lloyd – but Megan Fox responded with the comment “Maybe I got with Sophie.” While clearly a joke, given it was the only response from Fox regarding the situation, Lloyd became a target – and eventually spoke out.

“Sophie Lloyd is a professional, accomplished musician who has been needlessly dragged into the media based off of meritless accusations made by social media,” Lloyd’s team said in a statement to People. “Any suggestion that she has ever acted in an unprofessional manner or stepped out of her relationship are untrue.”

The rest of Megan Fox’s Instagram account has been wiped, leaving just the text post. She is also now following no one, after previously wiping her following list and leaving only three men: Timothée Chalamet, Harry Styles, and Eminem – the last being a very controversial follow given the ongoing public drama between the rapper and MGK over the years.

The most recent sighting of Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly was paparazzi photos of the couple exiting a marriage counsellor’s building, before entering separate cars. According to People, Fox has removed her engagement ring (which famously has small spikes around it intended to injure the person wearing it, should they ever try to remove it) and while they haven’t yet called off the engagement, the couple “have had issues in the past, [but] things seem pretty serious this time.”
