A couple of days ago, Megan Fox posted a callout to her followers to help her friend and nail technician who had set up a GoFundMe page for her sick father.

The fundraiser was originally set at USD$30,000 (AUD$45,000)—it is now USD $60,000 (AUD$90,000—and it is to help with medical expenses for nail technician Brittany Boyce’s father who is battling pancreatic cancer.

But the actress who is reportedly worth USD$8 million (AUD$12 million), attracted a slew of angry commenters who believed she should personally foot the bill, or at least make a significant contribute. One commenter even wrote, “The wealthy should absolutely cover this. Sorry not sorry. Stop hoarding money and asking your much poorer fans to help.” Another said, “If I had as much money as her, I’d cover 100% of a friend’s parent’s medical expenses before I asked strangers to.” Ouch.

For those who dared accuse Fox of “lacking generosity,” well, she has some words as fiery as cherry red hair, and has said it was Boyce who asked her to post the fundraising page.

“Hey weirdos,” Fox began in an Instagram Story. “Do any of you have the emotional intelligence to consider that maybe Brit doesn’t want her celebrity clients donating large sums of money to her because it creates a dynamic in her working relationships that makes her uncomfortable?

“I just obliged her request. Anything she needs from me personally she will ask and I will do it privately,” Fox continued.

“One thing you’re not going to accuse me of being miserly or lacking generosity. So try again on another day (probably tmrw!) with some different bullsh*t you bunch of psychos.”

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles actress and her fiancé, Machine Gun Kelly, have been longstanding clients of the Nail of LA founder Boyce. Remember when they attended an event and were chained together by their nails?
