As Margot Robbie continues her press tour for Suicide Squad, sartorially speaking, the actress and her stylist Kate Young are going from strength to strength. Following Robbie’s vibrant red power suit – a wonderful tribute to Harley Quinn – the 31-year-old has been spotted wearing beloved Australian label Anna Quan.
Robbie wore a white oversized shirt layered with a beige a-line skirt, the hem of the shirt just peeking through the bottom of the skirt. The business-chic look is a nod to Anna Quan’s penchant for shirting which saw her namesake label launch in 2015. Unfortunately for you and I, we’ll have to wait to copy the look, with pieces a part of the brand’s Resort 2022 which was shown at Afterpay Australian Fashion Week in June.
Speaking on the inspiration behind the collection, Anna Huang, the brand’s founder, told GRAZIA, “The last year has been challenging for us all, but it’s showed that the human spirit is remarkable. Restrictions create boundaries, but hope always seems to ignite new ideas and aspirations. I wanted to embrace this concept of ‘revenge’ dressing—an opportunity to wear all the clothes you couldn’t wear during 2020. It’s rebellious and celebratory at the same time.”
The Wolf of Wall Street star later appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live in Magda Butrym Fall 2021. Sitting alongside John Cena and James Gunn, the actress admitted that her former boyfriend was obsessed with Cena and that he owned a cardboard cut out of the WWE actor.
“…As a late teen, early 20s, I had a boyfriend who was obsessed with John Cena. So much so that he dressed as John Cena for his 21st birthday and had a cardboard cut-out in his bedroom,” Robbie said. See the moment below.
What will she wear next? Stay tuned. We have a feeling the Australian starlet is about to hero some more local brands.
