Lorde has had a busy summer in the United States. The singer has toured the country to promote her latest studio album Solar Power but in new paparazzi shots, it seems it hasn’t exactly been all work and no play for the 24-year-old. While out in Los Angeles overnight, the New Zealand pop star was spotted canoodling with her rumoured boyfriend, Justin Warren.
In images obtained by the Daily Mail (see them here), Lorde (whose real name is Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor) opted for a grey blazer and khaki pants over her usual citrus coloured wardrobe. They can be seen hugging before sharing a quick kiss. The pair have been rumoured to be dating for some years now but finally it has been confirmed.
Warren, a music executive at Universal, denied the dating rumours five years ago after the pair were seen spending time at the beach together.
“Ella and I have worked together for years and we’re good friends,” he told The Herald in 2016. “Any rumours of us being ‘a pair’ are ridiculous. Ella has a really busy year ahead of her and we’ll be spending more time together as plans for the next Lorde record unfold.”
Doesn’t seem so ridiculous now.
Lorde was also believed to be dating collaborator Jack Antonoff in 2017 but she also shot down those rumours.
The singer released her highly-anticipated album last week and will embark on a worldwide tour in 2021. She will start in her homeland of New Zealand before embarking to Australia. She will then travel to Europe, the UK and North America.
“It sort of doesn’t seem real, but I’m super keen.,” the singer told Stephen Colbert on the upcoming tour. “This album is so joyful and big and such a good thing to experience with a bunch of people, so I’m glad the timing worked out that we could do a tour.”
