After emulating Marie Antoinette and Marilyn Monroe in a string of Bottega Veneta looks while in Paris, Kendall Jenner has shed her French girl alter ego and descended on the streets of Manhattan to deliver a supermodel twist onto two all-American ensembles.
During the New York minute, the 818 Tequila founder eschewed the coquette or boudoir-influenced lingerie as outwear aesthetic by swapping the conventional lace corsets or silk slips silhouettes for something borrowed from the boys: boxers and baseball caps.
For the occasion, the 27-year-old continued her sartorially minimal streak in an oversized navy blazer, crisp white button down, white boxer shorts and a pair of softly creased black leather loafers, a polished ensemble that complimented her Yankees baseball cap, ludicrously capacious tote and Gucci sunglasses.
Continuing her mode of referencing the style savants from whatever city she is in, Jenner looked to the head-to-toe The Row uniforms of Jennifer Lawrence and the Olsen twins themselves for this subtly expensive ensemble all while giving it a menswear-inspired twist. Is this look a Kendall Jenner or Kendall Roy original?
Although Jenner has returned to her 90s imbued street style wardrobe, the supermodel’s latest outfit offers an unconventional take on the ‘no pants’ trend she’s pioneering.
Even while in France, Jenner continued to prove why she’s the poster child for leaving the house sans trousers by walking Jacquemus’ runway in a billowing meringue style strapless mini and cloud-like bloomers.
Although nothing compares to the stockings-as-trousers Bottega Veneta look she sported last year in Los Angeles, Jenner’s penchant for a bare-leg look is clearly showing no bounds.
The next day, Jenner opted for a navy crop top and indigo denim jeans to pair with her trusty loafers and baseball cap look.
Despite Jenner wearing this to pay a visit to Tribeca’s The Brant Foundation Art Study Center, the outfit is fitting for a contemporary take on the conventional 90s supermodel airport look.
The reality star complimented her look with her accessory du jour, a brown vintage Hermès Kelly. If Jenner’s NYC looks tell us something, it’s that she’s nothing if not consistent.
