While Kaia Gerber is no stranger to Hollywood – she has appeared in projects such as Sister Cities and The Last Day of Summer – the model promised a successful acting career after her role in American Horror Stories last year. Now it has been announced that Gerber will return to the small screen in a recurring role for the Apple TV+ series, Mrs. American Pie.

The 20-year-old will join Jordan Bridges (Old Man, Rizzoli & Isles), Jason Canela (The Rookie, Always Be My Maybe) Mindy Cohn (Facts of Life, A Nice Girl Like You), Julia Duffy (Newhart, Looking) and Claudia Ferri (Bad Blood, The Killing) in the comedy series which does not have a release date yet.

According to Deadlinethe series which is written by Abe Sylvia and directed by Tate Taylor, will tell the story of “gorgeously impossible people”. Fitting for the supermodel who is currently dating Austin Butler. The 10-episode series is set in the powder keg era of the early 1970s and follows Maxine Simmons (played by Kristen Wiig) and her attempt to secure a seat at America’s most exclusive table: the Palm Beach high society.

As the report so perfectly notes, it begs the question: “Who gets a seat at the table, how do you get a seat at the table, and what will you sacrifice to get there?” The likes of Laura Dern (who happened to develop the show via Jaywalker Pictures), Carol Burnett, Ricky Martin, Amber Chardae Robinson, Allison Janney, and Leslie Bibb will also star in guest roles.

The streaming service which houses shows like Morning Wars, WeCrashed, and Roar is also set to launch the acting career of pop star Dua Lipa this year. She will star alongside Henry Cavill in the upcoming spy thriller Argylle which is directed by Kingsman‘s, Matthew Vaughn.
