Kaia Gerber and Austin Butler – the newest ambassador of Cartier – have been quietly dating since late 2021 and aside from a few outings, they have kept their new relationship from the public eye. Overnight the supermodel attended the world premiere of ELVIS at Cannes Film Festival in support of her beau, who stars as the King of Rock.

Unfortunately for you and I, this was not the evening where the couple would make their official red carpet debut. Butler walked the red carpet alongside the cast of ELVIS including Australian export Olivia DeJonge, Tom Hanks, director Baz Luhrmann as well as the Priscilla Presley.

In the distance Gerber wore a red halter-style Celine gown which perfectly blended into the carpet she walked on. The model opted for a fairytale-eqsue up-do and clean dewy makeup.

At the top of the stairs which lead into the theatre, cameras captured a small glimpse of the sweetest moment from the couple, following the screening. Gerber can be seen excitedly holding Butlers face, grinning, before further photos show the couple sharing a kiss.

One more time for the people in the back…

ELVIS proved to be a glowing success at the world premiere with it earning a 12-minute standing ovation, according to VarietyThe report further described the audience suddenly erupting into applause as Butler recreated some of Elvis Presley’s greatest hits in the film.

It is arguably one of the biggest releases on the Cannes lineup with the likes of Sharon Stone, Shakira, Kylie Minogue and a whole lot of supermodels also on the guest list.

The second trailer was unveiled this week ahead of the Australian release of June 23 which features more first looks into the film and a catchy new single from Doja Cat. Stay tuned for GRAZIA’s very own review and interviews ahead of the big cinematic release.
