Unbeknown to many, Hunza is the designer of that mini dress in Julia Robert’s 1990 rom-com, Pretty WomanThe brand was relaunched in 2015 by Georgina Huddart and thus Hunza G was born. You can still buy that blue and white cutout dress today while the UK based label has gone on to offer some of the most coveted swimwear globally.

Worn by every notable celebrity from Alexa Chung to Kim Kardashian and Hailey Bieber, Hunza G has expanded its offering of crinkled bikinis with the launch of Wondaland. With a sense of newfound freedom as travel and crowd restrictions lift, Resort 2022 is inspired by ’70s disco. And boy, do we feel like partying.

Hunza G has ushered in familiar favourites like the one-size-fits-all strapless bandeau, teeny crops and low-back one pieces in a vibrant new array of colours. The brand’s usual retro tortoise shell accents are also included in select pieces.

Ready-to-wear is peppered throughout the new collection. Body-con looks in the same crinkled material feature mini dresses with thin straps and a square neckline, midi styles with razor-sharp cutouts (you can learn how to midriff floss your way through summer, here) and our personal favourite – the fuchsia long-sleeve, backless mini dress. And for a take on ’70s athleisure, there is a also green body-con playsuit (if your dare try the tricky trend).

Resort 2022 marks the introduction of a new fine knit seamless fabric, Prene. With the same shape enhancing characteristics of the Hunza G signature crinkle, Prene has a closer knit, smoother appearance. Prene uses the same signature seamless technology, ensuring the fabrication is still committed to Hunza G’s one-size-fit.

A local resort designer, Danielle Mulham of Posse, dubbed the brand as a “wardrobe staple” when she travels beach side. That’s your sign to stock up for the season ahead (or gift it to someone you love come December). The collection is now available, here.
