The Beibers have used social media as the official medium to communicate any updates—see: the first-time parents announcing their pregnancy with a short Super 8 film from their vow renewal ceremony in Hawaii—so it’s no surprise Hailey is taking her 52.4 million Instagram followers along on one of the most intimate periods of her life.
For her latest post, the Rhode Beauty founder shared a series of candid photos from her recent Japanese babymoon, including her bump-friendly mustard yellow Miu Miu cotton crewneck, in-flight skincare routine and The Matrix-approved leather maternity wear.Â
However, it was a peek at her Kyoto-inspired manicure and an innocuous caption that piqued the interest of netizens: Did Hailey Bieber really just reveal the name of her baby?
For the uninitiated, Bieber shared a close-up image of herself drinking matcha from a traditional tea cup, showcasing her signature almond-shaped, subtle French-tip manicure decorated with cherry blossoms. “Little cherry blossoms on my nails little cherry blossom in my belly 🥟🥟🌸,” the 27-year-old wrote as the accompanying caption.
Given the emphasis on the florals and the pink botanical emoji featured, fans interpreted this as Bieber confirming she was not only having a girl but naming her Blossom.
Blossom Bieber wasn’t one of the epithets TikTok’s viral baby name predictions suggested, but there is something powerful about the world’s soon-to-be-biggest nepo baby possessing an alliterative moniker. Plus, if you adhere to a belief in nominative determinism—that is, people gravitate towards the areas of work that fit their names—doesn’t little Blossom sound perfectly tranquil? According to sources, the Biebers have already picked out their “perfect” name and are currently designing the nursery.
The photo also confused her best friend, Kendall Jenner, though not for the reason you think. In the image, Bieber is sporting a strawberry-shaped sticker, which the 818 Tequila creator confused for a pimple patch. There’s no word on whether this launch is in the works—though it will presumably get the green light and expedited after this co-sign—but like the countdown to Bieber’s bub (and the upcoming Rhode Beauty blushes), we’re watching on with anticipation.
