Gwyneth Paltrow is known for doing things differently in the beauty space (jade eggs in her vagina, orgasm candles and psychedelic corporate retreats, just to name a few).  But for her latest Goop product launch, she stripped in right back, hosting an off the cuff discussion about skincare with her mother Blythe Danner, and daughter Apple Martin.

The video, shot in her backyard (we think) was to celebrate the release of Goop Genes, a nourishing face cream designed to treat skin of all ages. According to Paltrow, it targets lines and wrinkles thanks to the inclusion of ceramides and botanicals, but also hydrates skin and delivers glowy freshness in spades – perfect for those with their collagen stores still intact.

The clip was candid and funny, with Apple firing questions from behind the camera, while Gwyneth and Blythe shared their thoughts on ageing, skin, beauty and feeling good:

“At what age did you guys feel the prettiest?” Apple asks.

“I felt really great in my late thirties,” replied Gwyneth. “I think ageing is hard. It’s definitely a process, and I think when you see your face start to change, you don’t necessarily feel your most beautiful externally. But the irony is it’s that time in your life when you actually really like yourself and love yourself. So you sort of internally feel really beautiful.”

“I think I felt prettiest at fifty,” says Danner. “Maybe because of what you just said!”

Goop products unfortunately don’t ship to Australia, but you can at the very least enjoy the video content below:
