All eyes were on Fendi this morning for the luxury Italian fashion house’s SS21 Haute Couture show as British creative director Kim Jones made his highly anticipated collection debut. Fashion industry OGs Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington were among the models to grace the catwalk, as well as the new generation of supermodels including, but not limited to, Bella Hadid and Lila Moss

Peter Philips was the mastermind behind the show’s makeup and Sam McKnight, hair. The duo conceptualised a magnificent beauty look to complement Jones’ opulent designs, inspired by the famed Bloomsbury literary group’s ethereal and romantic qualities. Kim was enamoured by how members like Vanessa Bell drew influence from England and Rome in their work. This sentiment is ever-present in the fashion collection and the spring-summer glam.

Ahead, GRAZIA breaks down the hair, and makeup looks from the Fendi SS21 Haute Couture show.

Following the show, McKnight delighted his Instagram followers by sharing behind-the-scenes images. For example, he posted a photo of Moss’s ethereal, wet-looking, pinned up-do. In the accompanying caption, he described the style inspiration: “The spirit of Bloomsbury, caught in a thunderstorm in the garden.”

A representative for McKnight tells GRAZIA that McKnight used L’Oréal TecniArt Full Volume Mousse and Sam Mcknight Modern Hairspray to create waves, as seen in the first slide of the gallery below. For the loose wet pinned-up styles, he used the aforementioned hairspray from his eponymous beauty line and Moroccan Oil Treatment Light.

Besides making a strong case for wet hair, McKnight incorporated lavish hair accessories from Italian designer and Fendi jewellery creative director Delfina Delettrez. She was responsible for creating custom pieces for the show: magnificent glass hair combs and jewellery like statement pearl ear cuffs. These accessories added and an element of mystique to the show’s beauty looks.

fendi haute couture makeup: bright-eyed and glossy

Keeping with the idea of being elegantly rain-soaked, most of the models embraced glossy lips and shimmery eyeshadow in the inner corner and lower lash line to draw attention to the eye. It appears as though Philip’s team curled the model’s lashes to emphasise the bright-eyed effect. A handful of models traded the glossy lip for a bold red pout, as pictured in the mini gallery below.
