There are good genes, and then there are ‘child of Kate Moss’ good genes. For the sole recipient of the latter, 18-year-old Lila Grace Moss, superstardom has been written in the stars since her birth. At yesterday’s Miu Miu spring summer ’21 show, Moss made her runway debut in a spectacular fashion—both opening and closing the collection.

Moss, who celebrated her 18th birthday less than a week ago, has been dabbling in the industry for years, securing fragrance and beauty campaigns with Marc Jacobs and often being papped front row with her supermodel mum. But due to regulations that prevent models from walking on the runway before they turn 18, she hadn’t yet walked for a brand.

Much like what happened when Kaia Gerber—a doppleganger for her supermodel mum, Cindy Crawford—opened for Raf Simons’ Calvin Klein in 2017, this runway appearance is likely to set off a chain reaction that will see Moss become the industry’s new darling. As well as being a dead ringer for her mother, Lila is also the daughter of Dazed founder Jefferson Hack, and has grown up in the orbit of the industry’s most respectable designers, photographers and creatives.

Speaking to Vogue before the show aired to a virtual front row, Moss—who has already been photographed by David Simons, Tim Walker and David Bailey—revealed her dream collaborator list: Gray Sorrentini (the photographer daughter of Mario, who her mother collaborated with, and dated, in the ’90s) and Edward Enninful. We’re not usually the gambling types, but we’d put good money on the chances that you’ll be seeing a lot more of Lila Grace Moss from now on.
