Emily Ratajkowski is in her red hair era.
Following in the footsteps of Kendall Jenner, Tessa Thompson, Barbie Ferreira and more, the model and podcaster initially debuted her new warm copper hue on TikTok.
In the since-deleted post, Ratajkowski can be seen dancing nonchalantly on the subway while wearing a black strapless mini-dress. She paired the LBD with white sneakers and a pale green crochet tote bag by Prada. Her new hair was styled straight, with her bangs resting just above her eyebrows.
“Not a filter,” she wrote on the video, confirming that the red transformation was indeed the real thing. “Sometimes, ya just need a change, you know?” she added.
Not long after, the My Body author gave her followers a closer look at the new hair with some snaps shared on Instagram. In the post, Ratajkowski posed in a plunging black one-piece on her green velvet couch. She used the caption to thank her go-to haircare brand Kérastase for keeping her hair “healthy” with Chroma Absolu—a range tailored to strengthen coloured hair—and her hairstylist Jenna Perry.
She then took to the NYC streets in an apple-green body con midi dress with a square neckline, minimalist beige strappy heels, and a Paco Rabanne 1969 chainmail shoulder bag. Giving the look a retro feel, she paired the look with round sunglasses and wire earphones.
Though this is the natural brunette’s first foray into red hair—other than experiments with a red wig filter—Ratajkowski recently had a stint as a blonde last October. It didn’t last too long, and she was back to brown within months, but it’s clear that she has the capacity to pull off just about any hue.
