The internet all but willed their romance into existence, but it looks like Emily Ratajkowski and Pete Davidson have split. The pair were first spotted together back in November, but it seems the relationship was to be short-lived, as an inside source has confirmed that they’ve now called it quits.

“Their fling has moved into the friends zone,” a source told Page Six. The insider also revealed that there doesn’t appear to be any hard feelings between the two, as that’s “fine with both of them”. But let’s be honest – are we really all that surprised by the news?

Since the couple’s debut a few months back, speculation has run wild on social media that Ratajkowski and Davidson’s sudden pairing was little more than a PR stunt, particularly after several very public outings – including a front-row appearance at a Knicks game in New York City.

Online commentators found the timing of the relationship – not long after Davidson’s split from Kim Kardashian and a few months after Ratajkowski’s breakup with ex-husband Sebastian Bear-McClard – to be suspicious, with many questioning the authenticity of the romance.

Ratajkowski recently opened up about her current relationship status on her podcast, High Low, insisting that she isn’t looking for anything serious and is simply enjoying dating. She also revealed that she recently joined an unnamed dating app for the first time, albeit against the advice of her friends.

“I was like, “F*** it’,” she said in a new episode. “I was feeling defiant because so many people told me not to get it.”

RIP, Pete and EmRata.
