‘Trouble in paradise’ always makes for good viewing. Just think of the success of The Hills or the Housewives franchise, where the picture-perfect façade of the rich and famous veils a wealth of skeletons. And now, Armie Hammer‘s ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers stars in a new Hulu reality series about the lives of those who call the Grand Cayman home.

A place of unimaginable beauty, where the sun’s always shining and the water is crystal clear, Grand Cayman is not what it seems. With a small population, everyone knows everyone—and that doesn’t always end well.

In a trailer for the new docuseries titled Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise, Chambers, 41, can be seen opening up about life on the island and how it became a safe space for her and her kids during her divorce from Hammer. Though the split was highly publicised due to the nature of allegations pointed at Hammer, 37, Chambers has kept mostly quiet about her experience.

“Grand Cayman has been a sanctuary for me. I moved here with my husband three years ago, but things have changed,” Chambers says in the trailer. “Even in paradise, it’s hard to know who to trust.”

The clip also shows fellow stars of the show glancing over stories about Hammer.

Hammer spent five years living in the Cayman Islands from when he was seven but moved his family back there to escape public scrutiny in 2020.

It all came after Hammer was confirmed as an official suspect in a sexual assault case with the Los Angeles Police Department in 2020. The alleged victim was the first to share evidence of abuse in early 2021 anonymously and has since spoken out against the Call Me By Your Name actor, accusing him of rape.

During the initial claims, Chambers took to social media and pledged her support for Hammer’s victims. She also described her heartbreak surrounding the situation.

“For weeks, I’ve been trying to process everything that has transpired. I am shocked, heartbroken, and devastated,” Chambers wrote. “Heartbreak aside, I am listening and will continue to listen and educate myself on these delicate matters. I didn’t realise how much I didn’t know. I support any victim of assault or abuse and urge anyone who has experienced this pain to seek the help she or he needs to heal. At this time, I will not be commenting further on this matter. My sole focus and attention will continue to be on our children, on my work and on healing during this incredibly difficult time.”

At the time, she also confirmed that she would not be living permanently in the Grand Cayman but appreciated the privacy it offers her and her children.
