Here’s a classic case of man-bag by name, grab-bag by nature.

Australian designer Dion Lee’s first foray into the male accessory category – via a capsule collection for monogram master brand The Daily Edited – was created for guys in theory but would suit savvy girls with a sleek, chic minimalist aesthetic too.

Take the navy tote, for example. It’s a denim mash-up dream. The wash bag? Bigger than most makeup purses, thus ideal if streamlining the every-day products you carry is impossible.

Sydney-born, now Manhattan-based Lee introduced a men’s line to his eponymous fashion brand last year for the Resort collection, so accessories are certainly a natural progression.

Given his recent Autumn/Winter 2018 presentation at New York Fashion Week revealed his first women’s shoe collection, we can only assume footwear will be on the cards for guys sooner rather than later too.

It’s not the first big-name collaboration TDE has lined up in recent years. The popular accessories brand, the first in Australia to make monogrammed initials leathergoods a thing several years back, tapped Hailey Baldwin in 2016 and the Stallone sisters last year for capsule collections.

“Working with The Daily Edited seemed like an opportunity to really create accessories that felt like they were helping me tell the story of the men’s character,” Lee has said of the small but chic collection that comprises a messenger bag, tote bag and wash bag in black, navy and khaki.

Prices range from $130 to $370 and all are available now at The Daily Edited online store.
