Demi Moore

The catwalk is no stranger to celebrity cameos, one of the first and most iconic being Madonna’s topless appearance on Jean Paul Gaultier’s 1992 charity fashion show. But on Wednesday, January 27, Demi Moore opened Kim Jones’ Fendi SS21 Haute Couture fashion show, causing such a stir that we think it’s fair to compare it to the “Material Girl” singer’s outrageous runway debut. Moore donned a silk black off-the-shoulder blouse and coordinating trousers, with statement jewellery designed by Delfina Delettrez.

As media outlets dished out headlines about her surprise runway debut, the actress took to Instagram to share her excitement about the experience with her 2 million followers. “Fulfilling a teenage dream,” she wrote in the accompanying caption. “Thank you @mrkimjones for having me open the @Fendi SS21 show, and congratulations on a beautiful and magical debut!” Countless celebs praised her on her look and her expert-level runway walk.

There were some critics on social media, though, who talked of a change in her facial appearance. But one doctor GRAZIA spoke to talks of how her skin looks better than ever. “On a positive note, her face and neck skin are much smoother, which is probably a combination of Micro-Botox and radio frequency,” said plastic surgeon, Dr. Frank Agullo, who has not treated the actress.

So how, exactly, did Moore end up on the haute couture runway alongside OG supermodels like Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, and Kate Moss? Better yet, what transpired for her to open the show for the supers? Fans of the Italian luxury fashion house took to social media, curious to learn more about Moore’s role in the show. To find out, GRAZIA did some investigative digging and, as it appears, Moore and Jones started working together in 2019.

The Indecent Proposal star wore a Dior ensemble tailored by the English fashion designer in a book of portraits titled “The Dior Sessions,” published in October 2019 and shot by British-German photographer Nikolai von Bismarck. In an interview with Women’s Wear Daily in line with the book’s launch, Jones spoke of his experience working with Moore on Bismarck’s shoot:

“Me seeing Demi Moore in a suit, who is someone I’ve always admired, is kind of amazing.”

Jones and Moore have undoubtedly developed a strong friendship through the years, evidenced by their communication with one another and her role as the opener in his latest Haute Couture show. In an Instagram post after the Fendi SS21 Haute Couture show, the English designer shared a photo on Instagram with the caption: “Thank you to the wonderful cast that made this happen true friends and family …. I love you all.” The first person he tagged out of his entire runway cast? Moore. We’re calling it now: This isn’t the last you’ll see of Moore for Fendi.
