The first B.Zero1 collection from Bulgari was created in 1999 to celebrate the future as we turned a new millennium. The forthcoming era – eventually dubbed Y2K – was wrought with uncertainty and confusion but perhaps more than anything, the early aughts was promising hope. It feels like apt timing that the Italian luxury brand – who has counted clients such as Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor – has ushered in a new re-interpretation of the collection as we welcome in a new normal.

The collection’s name is a representation of a fresh beginning. The “B” stands for Bulgari, “zero” for the new millennium and the number “1” for new, infinite beginnings. Believe in the future: that is what Bulgari has said as the 2022 B.Zero 1 instalment debuted this week.

The original ring is inspired by the the architectural features from the Colosseum in Rome and the follows the re-released 2021 iteration with gold studding and pavé diamonds. Similarly but with a new touch of the sophistication and grandeur, the updated B.zero1 ring features a sparkling diamond-set wave embracing the distinctive central spiral on both ends. Available in the three-band version in 18 kt yellow, rose or white gold, the new rendition fuses its legendary convention-defying spirit with the evocative force of a new inspiration.

In addition to the beloved ring, the same style can be laced onto a Bulgari chain and worn across the décolletage.

“Small or big achievements, for the world or for a single existence,” the luxury jeweller said in a press release this week. “Discoveries, changes, long-awaited lifegoals, eye-opening revolutions, a new personal record. And more: a new job, a new relationship or friendship, an inspiring journey. The new B.zero1 creation is there to commemorate the moment, every moment, and tell each and every one of us: dive with fierceness into yourself and give shape to your visions.”
