If 2021 was the year of unexpected celebrity couples – think Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson or Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez – then 2022 is shaping up to be a strong contender to take the title. We’re just four weeks into the new year and Kanye West is musing with Julia Fox while the super secretive Bill Hader has found a new woman. Wait for it… Anna Kendrick.
The pair starred alongside each other for the 2019 Christmas film, Noelle. A source for People confirmed the relationship at the weekend, saying, “Anna has been dating Bill quietly for over a year. They met years ago. She’s hosted Saturday Night Live and they’ve done a movie together, but they got together well after the movie.”
“They are both very private people, and with the pandemic it was easy to keep it quiet,” the insider added. “They’re both hysterical so they must keep each other laughing all of the time. She’s really, really happy.”
We shouldn’t really be surprised by the not-so-new relationship as Hader previously dated Rachel Bilson. Brunette, beautiful, petite, quirky, oh and did we mention successful? What can we say? The man has a type!
The Barry star and The O.C. alum first sparked romance rumours in December 2019 when they were spotted on a coffee date in Hader’s hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The couple made their red carpet debut at the Golden Globes in 2020 before a surprise split that July.
Kendrick was previously linked to British cinematographer Ben Richardson.
According to People, reps for Hader and Kendrick have decline to comment on the news. We can’t imagine Hader will ever address the relationship publicly. After all, in an interview with ICON he told the publication he fears “normal grown-up stuff”. Speaking about the potential “L” word seems way too intimidating for the 43-year-old.
