On promotional tour for her new film Jason Bourne, Alicia Vikander has hinted there could be another Bourne title to add to the franchise. The 27-year-old actress, who won the 2016 Oscar for Best Supporting actress for her role as Gerda in The Danish Girl, has said she’d be on board if the fugitive assassin plotline got another green light.

Asked if there will be another film, Vikander responded that’s he had no idea. “I was so in love with making this film,” she said. “And if I were ever to get the chance to come back, I’m here.”

Playing the role of Heather Lee, the CIA agent heading up a special forces team to capture Bourne (Matt Damon) and lure him – and his intelligence – back to the agency. But Vikander admits stepping onto the well-oiled set was daunting. “It’s always very nerve-racking stepping onto a new project and this is of course is a franchise I grew up to and looked up to, and I was nerve racking stepping onto that set the first day,” she said. “It’s a lot to take in, and it’s also quite surreal, and you still pinch your arm and you’re like, ‘Oh my god, I’m working with Matt Damon!’”

“This film was a really wonderful experience because they were very much a family,” she continues. “A lot of people had done several of the films together, not only cast but the crew. And that’s like hundreds of people that kind of come back together to do this project that they all love. So, I guess I didn’t have to be as nervous. As soon as I got there it really felt like everyone just had open arms and let me a part of the team.”
