Cannes Film Festival 2023: Gigi Hadid Is The Moment In Zac Posen At The Premiere Of “Firebrand”
Va-va-voom! Plus, all the pictures from the very glamorous red carpet
CANNES, FRANCE: Every Cannes season—in and around day seven of 14—there’s a shift in the vibe. A real lull as the journalists grow tired and irritated from midnight screenings and early morning filings. But then… a Hadid shows up, and order (or should that be chaos?) is restored along la Croisette.
Gigi Hadid encompassed this moment when she appeared at the premiere of the Jude Law and Alicia Vikander-starring film Firebrand at the Cannes Film Festival on May 21. The 28-year-old model and mother-of-one wore a tan, strapless, floor-length gown with a muted peplum waist and fishtail by Zac Posen and jewellery by Messika. Jovially swanning about the carpet, Hadid appeared the most at ease of all who walked it, smiling and waving, her bombshell blonde waves effortlessly flung to one side.
Firebrand is a highly anticipated release here in Cannes. It explores the story of Catherine Parr (Oscar-winning Vikander) who was King Henry XVIII’s (Law) sixth wife. (Not to be confused with Jeanne du Barry, the film which opened the 76th Cannes Film Festival this year and tells the story of Louis XV’s last official mistress.) From Brazilian-Argentinian filmmaker Karim Aïnouz, early reviews of Firebrand are already favourable, with special mention of just how unrecognisable Law is. (Seriosuly, take a look at the man below! He certainly is a long way from Mr. Napkin Head in The Holiday.)
