All The Breathtaking Looks From The 2021 Emmy Awards Red Carpet
These stars nailed the brief: dress to impress
After a long hiatus of virtual ceremonies and glitchy acceptance speeches, the awards season red carpet has returned in spectacular fashion – literally. Following the VMAs and Met Gala in New York last week, the red carpet made its way to Los Angeles for the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards. It was a sigh of relief to see every star’s full look on the red carpet, instead of merely squinting into a 1:1 Instagram square. Finally, we could witness the skirt to the bodice we only saw through a 16:9 zoom lens.
The men of the evening kicked off the red carpet in a soft colour palette of gelato pinks. Emma Corrin and Anya Taylor-Joy followed suit in buttery yellow gowns while Emmy winner Michaela Coel (it’s about time she was recognised for I May Destroy You) wore neon. Kaley Cuoco was seen in a vibrant number by Vera Wang and Yara Shahidi wore Dior couture.
The theme of the night was undoubtedly “dress to impress”. Embellishments arrived in droves from Cynthia Erivo’s feathered Louis Vuitton skirt and Angela Bassett’s hot pink ruffles. Billy Porter was also there (and is it really a red carpet event without Billy Porter?).
