With America just days away from possibly electing its first female president, it might not be a coincidence that Warner Bros. dropped the full-length trailer for Wonder Woman, which isn’t due for release until July next year.

Gal Gadot is the epitome of a powerful heroine in the clip, which is two minutes and thirty seconds of exhilarating action, such as when Wonder Woman stands up against a wall of men with guns and deflects them with ease using her wrist cuff.

Part of the trailer is set in the present day – Diana Prince is shown at the glass pyramid at the Lourve in Paris – which adds to speculation that the story might link to her appearance in Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice and her upcoming role in 2017’s Justice League, both of which are set in the present.

After the collective disappointment of Batman Vs. Superman and Suicide Squad, which didn’t overly impress the critics or many punters, fans are holding out hope that Wonder Woman will be the good DC Comics film we’ve been waiting for.

And if Diana Prince was real and alive in 2016, we’re pretty sure she’d be out campaigning for Hillary Clinton in a Nasty Woman T-shirt
