London has called Taylor Swift after a slew of performances across continental Western Europe and the United Kingdom. In turn, the songstress has answered in kind by assembling the British version of her signature girl squad for an interestingly-timed outing on the town. (Or should we say the ton considering the girl’s night out coincided with the season three finale of Bridgerton.)
The star dined out at the London outpost of the Argentinian restaurant Casa Cruz with her friends including Cara Delevingne, whom she recently supported at her final show in the West End revival of Cabaret, Lena Dunham, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Stella McCartney and Este and Danielle Haim.
But it wouldn’t be a parade of English roses without tapping the ultimate London ‘It’ girl, Kate Moss. Thankfully, Moss was willing and able to join Swift for dinner, making the legendary supermodel’s initiation into Swift’s clique complete.
Interestingly, Waller-Bridge’s Fleabag co-star Andrew Scott was also privileged to an invite, because who wouldn’t want the ‘Hot Priest’ to come for dinner, especially after that season two opening scene? For the occasion, Swift and her guests flocked to the ritzy corner of Notting Hill and Holland Park—just around the corner from Victoria Beckham’s lavish residence, might we add for future reference.
The 90s fashion stalwart wore a Jackie-Kennedy-meets-Tom-Ford-for-Gucci silhouette, donning a white satin skirt suit set and plunging black blouse. Of course, given Moss’ penchant for eclectic accessories, the newfound beauty entrepreneur styled her look with ‘rockstar girlfriend’ fishnet stockings and a beaded snake, which she wore as a Y2K-approved useless skinny scarf. Could this reptile’s inclusion in Moss’ look be a hint that Reputation (Taylor’s Version) is in the works?
Swift’s ensemble also features clues pointing to the re-recording. Particularly, her ‘Ancora’ burgundy Gucci accessories that are lifted straight from the colour palette of the album.
The appearance follows news that Swift’s ex-boyfriend, Matty Healy, is engaged to his burgeoning model girlfriend, Gabbriette Bechtel.
Though it’s unclear if Swift was signalling she was “dressing for revenge”, the star could’ve taken cues from Moss who decided to “shake off” any indication that she was aligning with a certain faction by heading to a house party hosted by Charlotte Tilbury. The ultimate party muse, Moss ended her evening by partying with new mum Sienna Miller, her boyfriend Oli Green and musician Noel Gallagher. You know we love a London girl.
