Taking the fashion world by storm, Dua Lipa has gone from co-chairing this year’s Met Gala earlier this week to now co-designing a collection for Versace.

The collaboration, which will capture the “feelings and colours” of summer, will debut at Cannes, during a runway show scheduled for May 23. While not officially part of the Cannes Film Festival calendar, the show will take place shortly after, at a to-be-confirmed location.

“I am absolutely thrilled to have co-designed the women’s ‘La Vacanza’ collection for Versace with Donatella,” said Lipa about the project in an announcement. “[Donatella] and I have formed such a strong bond over the years, and I’m so grateful for the support I’ve received from her and the whole team since the very beginning of my career,” she added.

“For her to give me the honour of co-designing this collection and letting all my summer inspirations go wild has been a dream. I am so very proud of this collection and cannot wait to debut it in Cannes.”

Donatella Versace, who has helmed the brand since her brother Gianni Versace‘s assassination in 1997, also shared her excitement. “I have always been inspired by a collaborative design process,” she said. “Working with Dua on this collection has been very exciting, and I love the dynamic between us. Dua is strong, fearless, and free, and her creative vision is exceptional. Summer is a magical time. We will capture this feeling and the colours of that time of the year with a truly special and intimate fashion show in Cannes.”

The singer also shared the news on her personal Instagram, adding, “We cannot wait to show you what we have created!”

Lipa, 27, has held a longstanding relationship with the Italian fashion house after first meeting Donatella in London in 2017. Since then, she has starred in campaigns, worn a plethora of Versace looks on the red carpet, and even closed Versace’s Spring/Summer 2022 runway during Milan Fashion Week.

The “La Vacanza” collection will be available in stores and on the brand’s website immediately following the show.
