Kanye West was admitted to hospital this week reportedly suffering from sleep deprivation and dehydration, but his condition is said to be even worse than was first thought.
TMZ reports that the rapper is in such “a bad mental state” that he was not allowed to leave hospital and spend the US Thanksgiving holiday at home with his family.
According to a source close to Kanye, his psychological problems are “significant enough” that he’ll easily meet the requirements of his insurance policy to cover the financial losses of the 21 concerts he cancelled on his North American tour.
Kanye’s personal doctor Dr. Michael Farzam made a 911 call on Monday when Kanye appeared to suffer “temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration” while at his trainer’s gym, where he allegedly tried to assault a staff member. He was handcuffed to a stretcher “for his own health and safety”. The situation followed a week of bizarre behaviour at his Saint Pablo Tour concerts, including rants about Donald Trump, Jay Z and Beyonce.
As reported earlier this week, Kim Kardashian had just landed in New York ahead of her first public appearance since being robbed in Paris in October when she discovered Kanye had been hospitalised. She stepped off one private jet and straight onto another to return to LA to be by his side. People reports she only left the hospital for the first time on Wednesday evening and planned to return Thursday morning, which is also Thanksgiving.
