Following news earlier today that Kanye West has abruptly cancelled the remaining 21 dates of his Saint Pablo tour without reason, multiple sources have confirmed that the musician has been hospitalised and remains under medical observation.

The Los Angeles Police Department reportedly responded to a ‘disturbance’ call at around 1:20pm Monday PST. Variety reports that authorities discovered a ‘medical emergency’ on arrival before West was transferred to UCLA Medical Centre by paramedics for psychiatric evaluation. NBC sources add that no criminal activity was involved in the situation.

Last week, West made headlines at the San Jose leg of his Saint Pablo tour by declaring that if he had voted he would’ve voted for President elect Donald Trump; two days later West was due to perform at Sacramento, however, after arriving an hour and a half late to the venue he performed only two songs before taking aim at Beyoncé, Jay Z, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton during an address to the crowd.

Per Pitchfork, West is under observation at Los Angeles hospital, where he remains for his “own health and safety”. TMZ adds that West was transported involuntarily to the hospital, necessitating the use of handcuffs and a gurney.

More to come.
