You know that every time Zendaya walks down a red carpet, it is going to be a moment to remember. Her looks are much anticipated and coveted in the world of pop culture and fashion, and this time again, she did not disappoint. Last night, she attended the Women in Film Awards in Los Angeles, and she brought with her a garment that was elegant and filled with the strength of an ancient warrior. Yes, she wore another breastplate.

Zendaya attended the awards ceremony as one of the honorees for the evening, as the event aims to highlight individuals who seek to make the film industry a more equitable place. Zendaya has trail-blazed her way into said industry over the years, and rightfully deserves a place amongst those honored.

She wore a ankle-length Loewe gown that clung to her shape, but what put the dress over the top was the addition of a gold breastplate over her chest and stomach. The style of the breastplate is reminiscent of something like a Grecian warrior, but if a Greek warrior wore gold Louboutins to a red carpet event.

This isn’t the first time Zendaya has worn armor to a red carpet however, in fact it’s an extremely telling sign of her collaboration with celebrity stylist Law Roach. In 2020 to the Critics’ Choice Awards, she wore a bright fuchsia Tom Ford dress with a metallic breastplate in homage to vintage Issey Miyake and Yves Saint Laurent. Roach described her as going full “warrior woman.”

Again in 2018, Zendaya made splashes at the Catholic-inspired Met Gala, Heavenly Bodies, when she dressed in head-to-toe plated armor, also styled by Law Roach. This pattern of warrior and power for Zendaya is becoming quite the trademark, and we’re hoping to see more of this.
