Wendy Williams and Ray J are the new squad we want in on. The unlikely pair spent the weekend together in New York, enjoying brunch together before being pictured stepping out of her apartment on Sunday afternoon arm-in-arm.
But before the rumor mill kickstarts, the talk show host was quick to tell fans the two are just good friends.
“Guess who’s treating me to brunch? He’s very cute & very married,” she captioned a selfie of her and Ray J from the day before. “I’m close to his family & he is my little brother.”
Ray J found fame in 2007 when his sex tape with Kim Kardashian leaked. He was later linked to Whitney Houston and is now married to Princess Love. The pair split in late 2020 but in February shared the news that they had reconciled and were giving their relationship another shot.
“We’re in a good place right now, we’re in Miami, we’re gonna move down to Miami, I don’t think we’re going back to Los Angeles any time soon,” he told TMZ Live. “We’ve been taking care of the kids, they love it out here, and it’s given us a different mood and outlook on life. God is good, we’re taking it one day at a time.”
Ray and Princess have two children, a daughter Melody and son Epik.
Wendy divorced her husband Kevin Hunter in 2019 after a tumultuous few years in which she alleged he was a “serial cheater”. They married in 1997 and have one son together.
But she accused him of cheating on her multiple times, and in 2019 shared the news that he had fathered a daughter with another woman.”Kevin had a major indiscretion that he will have to deal with for the rest of his life. An indiscretion that I will not deal with,” she told The New York Times. “I never thought that I would be in this position.”
She called herself a “very forgiving person” but “there’s one thing that I could never be a part of, and that one thing happened…Kevin has a daughter.”
Wendy later enjoyed a short-lived romance with Mike Esterman.
