Apple cider vinegar, egg whites and avocado: the designer’s mornings are as consistent as her dinners. Victoria Beckham has never pretended to be adventurous at the table. Her husband has joked about it for years, and her friends confirm it. But while her dinners get most of the attention, it is her breakfast that tells you the most about how she organizes her day.
It is simple, fast and built around protein. And according to those who know her best, it barely changes.
It Starts Before the First Bite
The first thing Beckham has before eating is not coffee. “Each morning, the first thing I do is have three tablespoons of apple cider vinegar,” she told Net-A-Porter. She follows it with hot water and lemon, and then, by her own account, several coffees.
Apple cider vinegar is a popular wellness habit, though it is very acidic, and many dietitians recommend diluting it in water to protect your teeth and throat. If you want to try it, start small and check with your doctor if you take medication or have digestive issues.
The Breakfast Itself: Egg Whites and Avocado
Her actual breakfast was revealed by her close friend Eva Longoria, who told MailOnline in 2024: “We both love egg whites and avocado.” HELLO! estimates that the whites of two or three eggs plus a whole avocado come to roughly 300 calories.
Nutrition expert Sonia Khan told HELLO! that an egg white contains about 17 calories and no fat, compared with about 55 calories and 5 grams of fat for a yolk. Keeping the whites keeps protein high, and the avocado brings healthy fats. She called the combination “ideal for a nutritious start to the day.”
What Nutritionists Would Add
Not every expert is fully convinced. Registered nutritionist Jenna Hope told HELLO! that the breakfast “is not nutritionally complete as it lacks a source of complex carbohydrates.” She also pointed out that skipping the yolk means missing out on nutrients like choline and vitamin D, and suggested adding vegetables such as spinach, peppers or mushrooms, or a sprinkle of seeds.
Nutritionist Tina Lond-Caulk recommended adding a complex carb such as oats, quinoa or whole-wheat toast. Conveniently, Beckham’s own comfort food is wholegrain toast with salt, according to HOLA! USA.
The Same Logic as Her Famous Dinner
Her breakfast follows the same philosophy as her evening meal. On the River Cafe Table 4 podcast in 2022, David Beckham said: “Unfortunately, I’m married to someone who has eaten the same thing for the last 25 years.” He added: “Since I’ve met Victoria, she only eats grilled fish, steamed vegetables. She’ll very rarely deviate away from there.” Longoria said the same: “For dinner, she is definitely steamed fish.”
Repetition, it seems, is her real secret. Fewer decisions, predictable energy and meals that fit around a demanding schedule.
How to Borrow the Idea
You do not have to copy her plate exactly. A protein-rich breakfast with healthy fats is easy to adapt: scrambled eggs, or egg whites if you prefer, with avocado on a slice of whole-grain toast and a handful of spinach covers protein, fiber and complex carbs in about five minutes.
Victoria Beckham, 52, has found a breakfast that works for her and stuck with it. The lesson is not the egg whites. It is choosing something simple enough that you will actually keep doing it.
