GANNI and Hunter have joined forces for the first time, bringing Copenhagen cool to one of Britain’s most recognizable wet-weather brands — just in time for fall.
Launching September 14, the limited-edition GANNI x Hunter collection takes Hunter’s 170-year history of weatherproof dressing and gives it the playful treatment we’ve come to expect from GANNI. Think practical rain gear, but splashed with leopard print, vivid lemon yellow and GANNI green.
Naturally, the Wellington boot is at the center of the collaboration. The Downpour Adjustable Wellington gets an update with bold colors and prints, while the Balmoral ankle boot combines GANNI’s fashion-forward approach with a hard-wearing Vibram sole. In other words, these are boots designed to work just as well on a muddy countryside weekend as they do with a great skirt in the city.
The collaboration goes beyond footwear, too. There’s an oversized waterproof poncho available in lemon, green and leopard, alongside waterproof bucket hats and a particularly fun leopard-and-lemon umbrella. The result sits somewhere between festival dressing, countryside practicality and Copenhagen street style.
For GANNI creative director Ditte Reffstrup, that mix is precisely the point. The designer describes the partnership as a meeting between Hunter’s British heritage and GANNI’s Copenhagen perspective, proving that even the most practical pieces can still have personality.
And with fall rain inevitably on the way, the timing couldn’t be better.
