Pretty perfect! The stars of film and television stepped out on Sunday, February 23 for the 31st Screen Actors Guild Awards and the hair and makeup echoed the good vibes of the night as awards season rolls on. Unlike the Golden Globes which brought out bold looks and the Grammys, rich in over-the-top glam, the SAGs offered a night of chic, subdued beauty. From sweet peach cheeks and lips to soft, decidedly undone waves, quiet glamour was the major trend on the red carpet at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles. Even those luminaries who went with bold red lips or glittery eyes paired their statement feature with little other makeup on the face. Perhaps the A-list is saving their most astounding beauty moments for next week’s Oscars!
Here, the best looks of the 2025 SAGs.
Monica Barbaro

The A Complete Unknown Star stunned with mega-shiny locks — a result of hair pro Owen Gould using L’Oréal Paris Glossing Lamination Mask — and bold brows with rosewood lips. Makeup artist Samantha Lau used products by L’Oréal Paris for the chic look, grooming arches with Brow Stylist in 389 Brunette and Infallible 24H Brow Lamination Gel Transparent. The rosy neutral pout came courtesy of a blend of two Colour Riche Lipstick shades: 601 Worth It and 752 Classic Wine. Her dewy glow was thanks to a swipe of Lumi Le Glass Highlighter Stick in 610 Glassy Pearl Éclat.
Zoe Saldaña

Soft pink lips and subtly smoky eyes looked divine on the Emilia Perez nominee. Makeup artist Vera Steimberg turned to Chanel Beauty products for the sophisticated look. Shades from Chanel’s Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow in Candeur et Expérience and Ombre Essentielle Multi-Use Longwearing Eyeshadow in Brun Talpa were blended on lids. On lips: A light yet mega-long-wearing coat of Chanel Le Rouge Duo Ultra Tenue Ultrawear Liquid Lip Colour in Light Mauve. As a gorgeous complement, longtime hairstylist Mara Roszak created a “wet, sculpted ballerina bun” using Milk Hair Serum, Willow Glen oil and Evergreen Styling Cream from her RŌZ Hair line.
Leighton Meester

Fresh off the announcement that she’ll appear in the second season of Nobody Wants This, the actress (and wife of lead Adam Brody) rocked monochromatic peach hues on eyes, lips and cheeks and a new ‘do, too. The star debuted a racy red hair hue by color guru Amy Huson and a loose Veronica Lake-inspired wavy style by hair pro Clariss Anya Rubenstein.
Demi Moore

Beachy waves and pinky-beige lips accented the Substance star’s bold jewelry. Makeup artist Rokael Lizama used Dior Beauty for the stunning look, prepping skin with Capture Le Serum and Capture Day Crème before applying complexion enhancers including Forever Skin Multi-Use Foundation Stick in 2.5N and 4N. He created the sexy, soft lip look by layering Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil in #004 Coral over Dior Addict Lip Glow balm in #000 Transparent. For her extra-long “Lazy Girl Hair,” hair proDimitris Giannetos used two different curling irons to add dimension and create uneven waves “for a more natural feel” before enhancing volume with texturizing spray.
Mikey Madison

Major red lips matched the Anora lead’s massive smile. As for her hyper-glossy, center-parted locks (lengthened with Remi Cachet 20-inch clip-in hair extensions) , hairstylist Rena Calhoun ran a dab of Sisley Paris Hair Rituel Precious Hair Care Oil through to finish. Makeup artist Melissa Hernandez prepped skin with Mediheal’s Low-Molecular Lipsome Hyper Collagen Mask and Ampoule Pads before applying Armani Beauty makeup including Luminous Silk Foundation in 1.5 and 3. For the cherry pout, she mixed Lip Maestro in shades 400 and 402, “pressing the color into the lips for a plush, velvety finish.”
Kerry Washington

An updated old Hollywood waved lob and chic matte beige pout played perfectly with the Scandal star’s Armani Prive gown.
Kaitlyn Dever

Soft lavender lids and a peach pout completed the Booksmart cutie’s look. Makeup artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua used Chanel Beauty to create the fresh look, leaning into a lilac tone-on-tone, rimmed, extended-defined eyeliner using Stylo Yeaux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Mauve Intense followed by a wash of Ombre Essentielle Multi-Use Longwearing Eyeshadow in Lilas Poudré over the entire eye, “to set the liner and create a soft glow.” The “fresh, moist lip” was achieved by layering Rouge Coco Baume Shine in Honey Bliss atop Le Crayon Lèvres Longwear Lip Pencil in Beige Naturel.
Isabella Rossellini

Iconic! The Conclave nominee exuded timeless elegance with a demi-matte plum pout. Makeup artist Matin Maulawizada painted the Lancôme Global Ambassador’s lips by topping Lip Idole Lip Shaper in 66 Mahogany Mauve with Lip Idole Squalane-12 ButterGlow Hydrating Lip Balm in 60 Million-Dollar Berry.
Selena Gomez

Bronze smoky eyes played off of the Only Murders in the Building actress’s bold true red lips. Her longtime makeup artist Hung Vanngo used Rare Beauty Kind Words Matte Lipliner and Matte Lipstick in Devoted. The pro prepped skin with Dr. Althea Vitamin C Boosting Cream and 345 Relief Cream. A sophisticated complement, hairstylist Renato Campora fashioned an updated ’60s bob with a “tuck behind her ears to add a more modern aspect.” To create the shape, he ran Joico Dream Blowout Thermal Protection Creme and JoiWhip Design Foam through locks before blow-drying, bending ends under, and finished the look with a shot of Joico Power Spray Fast-Dry Finishing Spray.
Cynthia Erivo

She shines! The Wicked diva brought the sparkle with silver glitter eyeshadow. Her makeup artist Joanna Simkin enhanced eyes with Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Palette of Beautifying Eye Trends in Super Neutral and Exagger-eyes Mascara. The perfect lip match? Matte Revolution Lipstick in So 90s and Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk Deep. A spritz of Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray locked in the look for the whole night.
Anna Sawai

Winning! With sleek, center-parted locks and sumptuous beige pout, the Shōgun star’s makeup was prize-worthy, too. Makeup artist Yukari Obayashi Bush highlighted skin with the Dior Forever Skin Perfect Multi-Use Foundation Stick in #2W then created dimension with Dior Forever Skin Contour Stick in #01 Light. Glowing cheeks came courtesy of Dior Glow Blush in #012 Rosewood plus a swipe of Dior Rouge Blush Colour & Glow in #100 Diorissimo. For perfectly applied beige pout, she lined lips with Rouge Dior Contour in #303 Greige Attitude, then blended on Rouge Dior in #219 Rose Montaigne Satin Finish.
Quinta Brunson

The Abbot Elementary actress looked fabulous in a marcel-waved pixie and smoky eyes. Makeup artist Rebekah Alladin played up Brunson’s peepers with Dior Beauty makeup including Diorshow 5-Couleurs palettes in #689 Mitzah and #673 Red Tartan, Diorshow On Stage Crayon in #099 Black and Diorshow Mascara in #009 Black.
Kristen Bell

Languid waves styled by Jenny Cho with Hair Rituel by Sisley Paris Curl Care Cream and neutral makeup gave the Nobody Wants This star — and host of the evening! — a golden California girl vibe. Makeup pro Simone Siegl prepped the star’s skin with Chanel Sublimage L’Extrait de Crème Ultimate Repair Cream and Sublimage L’Extrait Pommade Or Golden Radiance Balm before perfecting the complexion by blending on N°1 de Chanel Revitalizing Foundation in BD31. For the rosy nude lips, Siegl topped Chanel Le Crayon Lèvres Longwear Lip Pencil in Rose Naturel with a light coat of the brand’s Le Rouge Duo Ultra Tenue Ultrawear Liquid Lip Colour in Merry Rose and Intense Caramel.

Lined rims and a preternaturally soft beige pout amped up the Shrinking stunner’s sex appeal. Makeup artist Tasha Reiko Brown went for a “golden girl” look centered around “golden satin skin with gleam” using Chanel Beauty products. She slicked lids with a light coat of Baume Essentiel in Solar Glow, dusted cheeks in shades from the Jeux De Lumières Multi-Use Eyeshadow and Highlighter Palette and finished lips via a blend of Lipstick in Nude Brun and Rouge Coco Baume in Honey Bliss.
