Jaw dropping, head turning, whatever you want to call it, Thandiwe Newton and Chris Pine looked incredible Wednesday night for a special screening of their forthcoming film, All the Old Knives. Gathering at the London West Hollywood at the Beverly Hills Hotel, Pine sported his grown-out tresses and full beard, while Newton rocked an abs-baring cutout dress, both moments that couldn’t be missed.

While Pine looked as handsome as ever in his cream-colored suit with David Yurman gold chain, the actor and executive producer on the project told Entertainment Tonight, “This is my Gregg Allman look,” Pine said, referring to the late, great The Allman Brothers Band frontman. “This is my Gregg Allman ’70s look. My publicist said I look like a Bee Gee, but I prefer Gregg Allman.” When asked about the change in his grooming regimen, Pine lamented, “I guess it’s like, equal parts laziness and equal parts something I may do in the future here. If there’s any excuse not to shave and have makeup put on, I, you know..”

Newton pulled off a skin-baring look from Rodarte’s Spring/Summer 2022 ready-to-wear collection styled by Erin Walsh. The bodice of the dress was comprised of two straps of black fabric, twisting at the naval to connect to the intricately embroidered beaded floral-print skirt. The dare-to-bare piece put Newton’s impressive physique on full display, topped with a leather jacket adorned with a yellow and blue bow pin in homage to Ukraine. With a shimmering pair of green sparkling earrings, Newton was dressed to the nines.

So now that we were transfixed by both of their looks, we needed to know more about their new film (while hoping for more red carpet moments like this in the run-up to its release!). Based on the novel by New York Times bestselling author Olen Steinhauer, the Janus Metz Pedersen-directed film stars Laurence Fishburne, Jonathan Pryce, alongside the Pine and Newton.

All the Old Knives follows the riveting tale of two CIA agents on the hunt for a secret rogue agent. Veteran operative Henry Pelham (played by Pine) must work alongside his ex-lover and colleague Celia Harrison (played by Newton) on their quest.

On the carpet, Newton teased there’s also an “intense” love scene between the two on-screen stars that got her “a bit” nervous when filming, she told ET.

Sure to be a hit, All the Old Knives will arrive in theaters and Prime Video on April 8th.
