The Television Critics Association (TCA) has revealed the winners of the TCA Awards 2023, with HBO’s Succession and FX’s The Bear emerging as multiple award winners.

Due to the ongoing WGA and SAG strikes, the 39th annual TCA summer tour and awards event were canceled. As an alternative, the organization opted to announce the winners for the 2022-23 TV season through online channels.

The outgoing TCA President and Salon TV Critic, Melanie McFarland, stated, “This was a landmark year for television, as we said goodbye to several powerhouse series while welcoming a new generation of shows and stars into this highly competitive landscape.”

Notably, Succession took the lead among the 2023 TCA Award winners, securing both the Outstanding Achievement In Drama award for the second consecutive year (third overall) and the esteemed Program of the Year award for its final season.

Among the other prominent victors was FX’s The Bear, aired on Hulu. The show’s debut season garnered recognition as an Outstanding New Program and for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy.

In addition, Netflix’s Beef (Outstanding Achievement in Movies, Miniseries, or Specials) and I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson (securing its second consecutive victory for Outstanding Achievement in Variety, Talk, or Sketch) attained top accolades. Amazon Freevee’s Jury Duty was named Outstanding Achievement in Reality Programming.

The TCA displayed inclusivity in individual achievements, bestowing the drama award on Rhea Seehorn of Better Call Saul and the comedy award on Natasha Lyonne of Poker Face.

The Heritage Award this year honored The Carol Burnett Show, a landmark sketch series that graced CBS for 11 years and garnered 25 Emmy Awards during its tenure. Comedy luminary Mel Brooks received the Career Achievement award from the TCA, a journey that commenced with his involvement in TV on Sid Caesar’s Your Show of Shows and culminated in an EGOT achievement, encompassing four Emmys, three Grammys, three Tonys, and an Oscar.

The awards were determined by the votes of over 200 TCA members, with eligibility aligned with the 2022-2023 TV season. Keep scrolling for the complete list of winners from the TCA Awards 2023!
