Snoop Dogg is sippin’ on gin and… wait, what? The “Drop It Like Its Hot” rapper and Martha Stewart’s favorite collaborator put down his signature cocktail for a glass of rosé? It appears so! Cheers to the hip-hop legend who, following the success of his initial 19 Crimes wine, Snoop Cali Red, is venturing beyond his classic red blend just in time for summer. “This time, I was thinking pink,” Snoop explained in a statement. “Bring those fresh feels from spring into summer and beyond.”

The new rosé is a blend of Zinfandel, Grenache and Pinot Noir. It’s fruit forward, according to 19 Crimes, with balanced acidity and sweetness. The rosé is part of Snoop’s multi-year partnership with 19 Crimes, a line of wines inspired by the convicts-turned-colonists who built Australia. Apparently, the Snoop Cali Red was the top-selling wine innovation of 2020, so with its new Snoop Cali Rosé, 19 Crimes aims to capitalize on that success. John Wardley, vice president of marketing for 19 Crimes parent company Treasury Wine Estates, said the brand is already seeing high demand from retail partners.

“[19 Crimes is] one of the most successful brands in the market, so I’m more than eager to bring this collaboration to the world,” Snoop said last August when he launched his red blend. Wardley welcomed Snoop’s addition to the team, claiming he”embodies the spirit of 19 Crimes – rule-breaking, culture creating and overcoming adversity.” Thrillist reported “the rapper-turned-winemaker traveled to Northern California’s Lodi region, where the blend was born, and was actively involved in the tasting process.” “19 Crimes allowed me to come up with the perfect blend for me. Strong, bold and incredible — just like the D-O-Double-G,” he said last year.

“I hope when you open a bottle of this wine you take a little mind trip to my Cali home,” Snoop Dogg said. “This is how we Rosé the Snoop Dogg way!” We’ll drink to that.
