Every year the Met Gala announces a dress code for the night and guests always interpret it in many different ways. This year, the theme was “Gilded Glamour” which was a nod to the Gilded Age, the time from 1870 to 1890 when wealth prospered.
Some guests opted for intricate “regancycore” gowns or even played up the “In America: An Anthology of Fashion” exhibition (we see you Blake Lively). But there’s always one way to interpret just about any theme the Met Gala sets, and that’s choosing a sexy, skin-baring style. This year, there was Emily Ratajkowski’s archival beaded Versace number, Cara Delevingne’s body panted approach and more. Below, find the most skin-baring looks at the 2022 Met Gala.
Emily Ratajkowski
The model made in entrance in an archival bejeweled top featuring intricately-placed beads and fringe layered skirt from the Versace Spring-Summer 1992 collection.
Jodie Turner-Smith
The actress sparkled in a barely-there Gucci mini dress with halter neckline and ultra-short fringe mini skirt.
Cara Delevingne
Who needs a top when you have gold body paint? Cara Delevingne hit the carpet baring it all with her gold-covered bodice, teaming it with a pair of red pants by Christian Dior Haute Couture.
Lila Moss Hack
Lila Moss, the daughter of Kate Moss, wore a sheer tulle Burberry dress printed with the brand’s Equestrian Knight Design and covered in crystals, exposing her matching bodysuit underneath.
Ariana DeBose
The Oscar winner understood the assignment (a.k.a. the “Gilded Glamour” dress code) in a dazzling Moschino by Jeremy Scott form-fitting gown featuring gold flourish embroidery and a strapless, cutout neckline.
Iris Law
Iris Law also wore a Moschino by Jeremy Scott look that resembled feathers and exposed her rock hard abs.
Lily James
Lily James arrives in a lavender sheer beaded Versace “naked” dress with a cutout neckline and high-thigh slit.
Dove Cameron
One can always spot an Iris Van Herpen look from a mile away and Cameron’s cutouts were impossible to miss.
Tommy Dorfman
Tommy rocked numerous cutouts with this dark green ensemble with heavy shine factor by Christopher Kane.
Louisa Jacobson
Schiaparelli Haute Couture is the definition of “Gilded Glamour” and thanks to this dress’ 24K gold trompe l’oeil skeleton elements and sheer tulle, it checks both “gilded” and “skin-baring” boxes.
Vanessa Hudgens
How sheer is too sheer? The limit doesn’t exist! Vanessa Hudgens arrived in a custom sheer black lace embroidered long-sleeve from Moschino by Jeremey Scott.
