As the sun rises on a new era of Sex and the City, it will be interesting to see which characters make an appearance in And Just Like That… We already know that Kim Cattrall won’t be joining the revamp, but it looks like Chris Noth, famously or infamously known for playing Mr. Big in the original series, is back on set.

Dressed in Carrie Bradshaw couture, Sarah Jessica Parker and Noth were seen rehearsing lines together Monday morning in New York City. Rehearsing together, the two actors didn’t seem like their material was the jolliest in topic, as it it known that Mr. Big and Bradshaw are getting divorced in the HBO Max rehash of the metropolitan classic.

If you watched the first Sex and the City movie which, let’s be honest, a lot of us didn’t, a detail that’s important to remember is that Mr. Big and Bradshaw got married at the end, solidifying a relationship on the show that was tumultuous and bled out. In the sequel movie, Bradshaw confessed that she had an affair with ex-fiancé Aidan Shaw, but as far as that went, we saw Big and Bradshaw in a good spot. That is, until now.

In a leaked script from And Just Like That…, there are some lines that hint at a rough spot in their romantic endeavors. The scene in which this takes place is (you guessed it) a dinner between Bradshaw and friends Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), Charlotte York Goldenblatt (Kristin Davis) and newcomer Stanford Blatch (played by Willie Garson).

“I was taping the podcast, I was washing my hair. Yes, I wasn’t eating or sleeping, but at least I felt good about my marriage. Now I’m just one of the wives he was taking care of?” Bradshaw says.

What other surprises does And Just Like That… have in store? Well, we’ll just have to wait and see as the show is set to release in late 2021. Hopefully, this time we’ll see a bit more diversity in the show’s storylines and characters, as the original is a whitewashed view of Carrie Bradshaw‘s glamorous New York City lifestyle.
