May 11, 2021: Everyone’s buzzing about TikToker Rose Van Rijn, also known as @70srose on the popular video-sharing platform. Late last week, the social media user shared a clip of herself recreating Princess Diana’s famous windswept bob—and it’s since gone viral on social media, with 9.3 million views and counting. The content creator’s dedicated her feed to bringing back 70s beauty, and, without a doubt, she’s making it happen.

Rijn’s video starts with her on a green screen background of an illustrated guide to getting Diana’s hair, which she found on Pinterest back in April. She looked to it for inspiration on cutting her hair in the same style, transitioning from a shoulder-length bob to a chic, chin-grazing layered cut with bangs which she deems the “70s Olivia Newton-John style.” Watch her bring the look to life below.

To recreate the royal’s voluminous hairdo,  Rijn uses the Remington AS800 Dry & Style Airstyler to curl her short hair away from her face. To finish the style, she brushes through her strands with a paddle brush and locks it into place with hairspray. Finally, she changes out of her floral top and into a blazer and pearls, perfectly nailing the vintage aesthetic.

Unfortunately for all of us who live stateside, the Remington blowdry brush that the TikToker uses in her video isn’t available for sale here. No major worries, though—you can still achieve the look with some of GRAZIA’s favorite alternatives to the heat styling tool ahead.
