Havens Beach in Sag Harbor served as the setting for the morning “Stand Up for the Ocean” benefit where serious SUP athletes including Greg Chocko , Surfrider Foundation’s Jack Egan, Helen Gifford, Stacey Spencer, and many more competed in 1-mile, 3-mile, and 6-mile open water courses. Prizes for the first three winners of each race were awarded by race organizer and Stand Up Journal Founder, Evelyn O’Doherty. Beachside SUP yoga classes were taught by Amanda Bruno of Long Island Vibes and Gina Bradley of Paddle Diva led SUP lessons for those new to the sport. Competitors fueled up with Mexican fare from the Mattitaco food truck.

Later that evening, select guests including Marcus Adolf, Cavier Coleman, Cassidy Gard, Christina Ianuzzi, Tatiana Logan, Jacques Naudé, Bruce & Stephanie Moulton, Ricardo Pavoncelli, and Sarah Zurell, among others gathered in the garden at The Maidstone in East Hampton for an intimate Dinner Celebrating the Sea. Board Member Alexandra Richards Naudé provided the soundtrack for the en plein air evening under the stars by DJing for the first time since becoming a new mom. Project Zero Founder Michele Clarke welcomed all and introduced a special siren song by the stunning Judy Darling plus a perfect poem about preserving the mangroves composed and delivered by Shelton Lindsay. All enjoyed a four-course plant-forward menu designed and prepared by noted chef Andrew Molen. The blanc on blanc tablescape was peppered with preserved white roses by Eternal Fleur.
