All eyes were on Priyanka Chopra Jonas at the global premiere of her new series, Citadel, and she made the most of her red carpet moment in a show-stopping gown by Vivienne Westwood.
The actress, 40, channeled classic Old Hollywood with her off-the-shoulder red draped made-to-order gown that also brought some Jessica Rabbit energy with its sweetheart-neckline and corseted bodice. Chopra styled her hair in face-framing waves and accentuated her dress with bold red lip. She kept her accessorizing minimal, which seemed completely appropriate considering she had not one, but two, pieces of arm candy to pose with down the carpet.
She cozied up to her co-star, Richard Madden, who kept things classic in a dark suit sans tie. The two play agents at the global spy agency, Citadel, which has fallen and the memory of its agents have been erased. The two fight to restore memories in the action-packed thriller, premiering on Amazon Prime Video on April 28.
For Chopra Jonas and Madden, they clicked right away when they first met years prior. “We met one night at a party sitting opposite each other at dinner and got into some trouble that night,” Madden told Access Hollywood. “We instantly got on, and then it was years later until this happened.”
Of course, the leading man in her personal life was also on-hand, husband Nick Jonas. The musician looked dapper in a black tuxedo jacket worn over a black turtleneck sweater.
During her press tour, Chopra Jonas opened up what it will feel like when her daughter, 1-year-old Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, can see her in a powerful role like the one she plays in Citadel. “I hope that her relationship with me will be outside of her job,” the star shared. “I hope when she sees the trajectory of the choices that I’ve made over time, that she’s proud of my choices. I think I would really like her to like me. Just be like ‘Oh, I love hanging out with my mom,’ because I was like that until I became teenager. But until then I loved hanging with my parents and so far she does too.
She recently got candid about her fertility journey, telling Dax Shepard and Monica Padman on the Armchair Expert podcast that she froze her eggs in her mid-30s. She explained that at the time she was unsure of where her career was taking her and experienced “anxiety and pressure about wanting kids but being 35 years old.”
Once she decided to freeze them, she “felt such a freedom” she said. “I could continue on an ambitious warpath that I wanted to achieve.”
Chopra Jonas eventually met Nick, tied the knot in 2018 after just a few months of dating, and welcomed their first child via surrogate on January 15, 2022. The proud mom has shared adorable snapshots of their little one on social media, including photos of Malti watching her get glam, taking in the view while on-stage with her rock star dad and more. Chopra Jonas captioned one snap snuggling her daughter, “Days like this.”
